I just started college in august after moving in with my father and his girlfriend…

my father has never been super nice to me cause i am so much like my mother…when i was little before he left i saw him abuse my mother several times….he never laid a hand on me and im not scared that he will but he is always putting me down and just making me feel horrible…i want to move out and go to college somewhere else but everything is so expensive for a girl who has no more then 100 dollars in the bank…i have a job through my school but it doesnt pay nearly enough for me to even pay half of rent here….what should i do??

you do what ever you have to do.i went threw the same thing but was my dad.the older i got it got worse.i met a wonderful man had its ups and downs.turned 16 we got married no regrets.i left home and never went back.you wish nothing bad on them but you have to make a life for yourself.mine never changed maybe yours will.i will be praying for you.good luck

Get a job with Tuition Reimbursement? School will be free and the rest of your check can cover rent. You’ll probably have to work 40 hours per week and cut school to 6-credits per semester, but it’s quite workable.

Lager companies (Fortune-1000 and up) like West Corporation, Microsoft, etc… pay Tuition Reimbursement. You could always also pick up student employment at your college, it pays fairly well and they cover tuition.

Ignore him. Realize that you are bettering yourself to make something of yourself. He’s merely jealous of this fact. Stay strong and don’t let him get to you. If you let him get under your skin, your letting him win. Let him say what he wants, keep on your path to your future, to your happiness. Try and see if you can’t qualify for a scholarship. Dig around and see what your state doesn’t have to offer for scholarships. they are there just need to fill out the right paper work and send it out.
