Why can I give up cutting for a year for a boyfriend, but I’ve only made it 3 months and 29 days since I stopped for my own good?

It is the hardest thing ever. I actually am holding the knife right now.

The motivation that love gives you it’s quite different that the one you pose to yourself…
Anyways, why do you cut?

When the blood flows freely I feel free. Stress raises your blood pressure and I always want to relive it with sharp objects. The high from the endorphins is fun too.

Stressed because of school, receiving abuse, taking care of my elderly mother, and trying to keep it together all day.
I saw a theripist for 3 weeks almost 6 months ago, but the only breakthrough was that I am no longer insurable. No insurance means no theripist… so it’s me, my will power, and the internet fighting against the cool comforting blade of a knife.

Quitting cutting is like quitting any addiction. It doesn’t matter how many people want you to quit, or threaten you or bride you to get you to stop. You have to WANT to stop cutting. There ARE places you can call and places you might be able to go depending on where you live to get free counseling or help. You should try them.

cutting isn’t the answer to your pain dear..
try doing something which makes you happy rather than doing something that relieves pain.. if you can distinguish what im talking about then your on the first step to change :)
