Try jumping it again, and this time make sure that your cables are getting a good connection.

Ever notice that when your turn your ignition key to ’start’ all the electrical components in your car (lights, radio, fan, etc) turn off? The starter motor needs all the juice that the battery can provide, and so everything else in the car gets turned off when the starter is engaged. The switch that does this is the starter solenoid, and the clicking noise that you hear means that the starter solenoid isn’t getting enough power.

If you try jumping it again, it might work. It’s possible that you have other more serious issues, but make sure that the jumpers had good connections before you give up.
