netbooks have better battery life, but not quite the level of processing power of a regular 15″ notebook

Go for a laptop… They are more powerful and are capable of doing more. On the bright side they are cheaper…

I’m an animator… I love playing games on my laptop. I also have a desktop. What I suggest is going to Best Buy. They have a lot of choices and all the people who work in the computer department are people who love computers and games.

Personally I have an HP Pavilion Entertainment PC for my Laptop… and for my desktop I have a Asus CG Series Tower with an HDMI WideScreen Flat Monitor.

It all depends on what sort of gaming you really want to do… and what sort of homework you’ll be doing. If you require a lot of memory ON the computer, I would go for a desktop. But You can always buy and external hard drive for more memory…
Laptops are great for travel and taking notes during classes… but if you drop it… it could break right then and there. Also, they overheat a lot if you don’t keep it elevated. The fans for a laptop are on the bottom of the computer, so a extra fan elivaded thing would help. Best Buy also has those too.

I would go for a laptop if you want to game just because its more capable to run games then a netbook. Netbooks are just for small purposes like school work quick work. they dont have the CPU to game plus the tiny screen would suck.

Just don’t buy a Mac… they don’t have anything for gaming. PC would be the best. They come in all shapes and sizes.
