Single Mom & the Legal System~ How can I ever take proper care of my kids?

Their dad wont pay medical, my son has vision problems and my daugher is in counseling. He is over $2K behind, which means my bills are all late too.
I could take him to court, but I would spend all the money he owes to pay an attorney, and that money needs to go to my kids.
I know mom’s bail on child support and medical bills too, so I am not man bashing, I simply want to know where/how to get help. I work and I make too much money to get assistance, and not enough to get by… I live in Kansas.
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am getting so discouraged…

Talk to the family court. They will direct you to legal aid for people who cannot pay.

I think it’s worth paying any court fees. It’ll be worth it in the long run and maybe they’d make him pay those costs too.

Can’t you get health insurance through your employer? Or I bet it’s pretty easy to get Medicaid for the kids.
