Why is it that when you are having a normal wedding (not justice of the peace, or going away) everyone pressures you to do things a certain way?

I am getting way stressed out, my lungs are killing me and I feel like I”m going to pass out. Me and my fiance aren’t traditional!! Therefore our wedding won’t be completely traditional dammit! What is the big deal??? grrrrrr

Thanks Ang. It’s so hard sometimes. My mom wants everything traditional and i’m like we’re doing what makes me and my fiance happy not what everyone else wants. I don’t want to be mean and my mom gets her feelings hurt easily like me…..It’s just I’m working 6 days a week right now, me and my fiance are trying to get the money for the wedding together and I just can’t handle this pressure from my family too! Money wise I’m doing much better. Not stressing much. 6 days a week working is EXHAUSTING but it’s extra wedding money and I have to learn my boss’s job before she goes on maternity leave. It’s just too much and I really need them to back off.

Alot of brides seem to have this issue because ppl in general are egocentric ppl
i mean they should make it your stressfree day not me too day.
sadly that is what most family do some with good intentions but their not helping just tell them off a little
I’d say to go to the spa 3 or 2days b4 the wedding and dstress for a day or so cause after the wedding is done people finish eating your food, enjoy your music they’ll find some flaw in the wedding so know you cant please every one and its YOUR day not OUR day to those ppl. just kick back listen to what they say but just dont give it no meaning best of luck and congradulation on your big day ^_^

my inlaws tried ruling my wedding too
at one point we was actually thinking of going *gretna green*

a wedding is a manic in itself
without others shoving their beak in!

tell your ma, how much you love her etc
but this is something you need to do for yourself

tell her you appreciate her help etc
just slap it on thick ;)

tell them the things they want theie way they can pay for. might end up getiing the whole wedding paid for, wont have to work as much and on the day you can just change it to how you want anyways.
