Love help: Hello, a few years back I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitus, - Help.com

Hello, a few years back I was diagnosed with Ulcerative

Colitus, after loosing my job, girlfriend, and social life, I ended up being bed-ridden for almost 3 years… In the last two years I managed to build up enough strength to meet and get engaged to the love of my life but the problem arises of employment for me. I was working from home with a friend to make ends meet but like most “friends” they took the money and left me dry, and locally there is nothing for me to do part or full time…I really need to find a way to make an honest living so I can give my partner a proper home and start a life with her… seriously any input would be greatly appreciated, I am really scared and still not physically up to par, but like most illnesses my government sees no reason to assist me =(

You are truly a Knight in shining armor. I wish more men were as honorable as you. Try your state workers comp board they have a program for disabled people who wish to return to the workforce. also try your states name.gov for info. type in disabilities and add from there as you think of key words that match your scenario.

Good luck

Is that the Bush administration?
I agree with Puffy.
Also, a technique I have often used to find work is this. It requires PATIENCE. It’s guaranteed to work, if you can wait say 3 - 4 months.
Obviously, look in papers etc as well, but cold canvas like this:
1. Pick 10 businesses you know you could work at.
2. Send them a letter with a cv
3. Within a week, go and see them
4. Within another week, call them on phone.
5. Repeat steps 2 to 4 weekly. Business people LOVE persistence.

If you have the time, do 20 for faster results. The point is, why spread yourself thin when you can spend that time proving you are detemined. Out of ten businesses, of course they are going to employ more than 1 new person between them in a 3 month period.

Also, are you able to drive? Selling second hand stuff bought from garage sales at markets is lucrative.

Or even easier, go to your local markets, and buy OLD pieces of junk for next to nothing and sell them on eBay. This is JUICY. My last purchase was a brick from a museum, genuinely worth nothing as a collectable according to text books, bought for $3Australian and sold for $49. Lots more like that.

Stay in touch.

Sorry, to make it clear, focus on ONLY the businesses you started with… over and over, always being polite etc. do not stray from the path of PERSISTENCE!

and…

Never ever ever give up!
