My name is Shawntay Zaragoza.

I have three beautiful children ages 11, 9, and 4. We recently moved to Tinian, a very small island in the South Pacific with my same sex partner and many promises of a better life with her. Her father is ill and the family needed help with the farm, store, and family ome. It had all been abandoned. Only one brother was staying in the home and nothing was being cared for. We arrived in Saipan on August 20th, 2009 and spent the next 6 days spending time with her father and sister. We then came across on the ferry to Tinian. What a surprise it was! Definately not what I was expecting… I was promised to stay in the family home with a room for my two daughters, a room for my son, and a room for us. This was not the case. It turned out that the roof was leaking in one room and the other room was used as a storage and was filled with junk, and tons of termites! So it turned out that all five of us would have to share a room. One king size bed and a toddler bed. Not too comfortable, and definately lacked privacy! About a week after we arrived in Tinian, the drinking and partying began. She began staying gone all day, coming home to shower, then leave to party all night. Never spending time with the kids or myself. Over the next 2moths everything had unravelled and we have broken up, permanently. It is shattered and cannot be fixed. My children and I just wish to go home. However, before we left Oregon, we left our rental, sold all our belongings, including two cars, and used all our saving to get here. So we now are left with no money or resources to get home to our family. My brother and mother both have kidney failure and are on dialysis and depserately want us home. My credit is poor, so I do not qualify for a loan. My family has no money to help either. Minimum wage here is only $4.55/hour. There are no daycare centers, and I don’t know anyone here. There is not even a shelter for my children and myself to stay at. Thankfully my employer is holding my job and I can start to work as soon as I return. So my question to you folks over there is Do you know of any resources or funding to help my family get home?

Have your family help you get back home. If they cant get a job and start making a living there until you can find a way home. Hope this helps :-)

My family has no money to help. I have asked. And I could repay them fully within a few months. It costs about $5000 for our tickets. Minimum wage here is $4.55 per hour. There is no daycare center here, and I know no one. The average paycheck is under $300 every two weeks, and it costs more than that for a babysitter. But thanks for the insight.
