The only way to remove it completely is to remove the motherboard and manually uninstall limewire. It is clear to se where it is as it is the only lime colored wire protruding from the board. Good luck.

what. the. hell?

Just… go back to 4chan :)

Right - rick - if the uninstall failed, you need to uninstall it manually (assuming you have no software to do this for you

Follow these two steps

1 - run a search on your computer for “limewire” and delete its directory (normally you will find it in c:\program files\limewire - but it does differ)

2 - go to start > run and type in “regedit”

in the screen that comes up, go to find, and find “limewire” - each time it finds an instance, delete it, then find the next one - once there are no more to be found

and there you go - all gone :)

then repeat for frostwire if you have that too (although i’m not familiar with frostwire personally)

boot the computer in safe mode, and try again (thats tap F8 while your computer boots up, then select safe mode)

that will unlock those files, so you can delete them properly!

nononono! - system recovery would only work if you had installed it recently, and the computer had made a safe point there - safemode will enable you to delete the files and registry enterys you couldn’t when you first tried! - get back into safe mode, and then do the steps i listed above :)
