Single Mother Question: Medical or Psyc Field.

I am a single mother of a three month old. I am twety-three and about to go back to college. I have two years towards a psychology degree yet, I feel somehow drawn to med school. I don’t know if I want to leave my baby that long during the day.

I can’t decide what to do with my life. Psyc Phd. and M.D. take the same amount of time. I’m also afraid if I don’t go to med school I will be settling.

Should I get my psyc phd. or jump off a cliff and pursue med school?

And if anybody knows the stress, requirements, hassles with these two careers or education process, please let me know your experience.

Or if you just have an opinion, I am very open-minded at this point…lol.

Thanks,
Claire

Hey, either way you look at it you will have to be away from your baby… What do YOU want for you and your baby. You have to make a decision on what you want to do. SChool would be the best option. Im currently majoring in psych my self, i dont know if i want to go to med school or get my m.d like you said, so lol we have a similar problem . :P Follow your heart.. finish with your bachelors you can always start med school with a bachelors in psych, and you can still go on to get your phd, m.d or w/e. no one can make the decision but you, becuase in the end it wont be your dream that your following…. hope it helps. : \
