That’s not really shy then, maybe he changed his mind about the friendship? Maybe he thinks you’ve changed? Maybe he likes you in a different way? Maybe he doesn’t like you at all?
He could have just ran out of conversations to start or thing to talk about…
Talk to him if you want. You know if it bothers you or means a lot to you, let him know, ask him if anything’s changed and that you don’t like it
