“when you are 17, everything seems like the end of the world”..

yup, it really does, even when nothing happens. which is the worst part of all. The girl i had a crush on, i found out she has a boyfriend. And she’s a good friend of mine, so i can’t really do anything about it, can i? haven’t been able to find another crush, which sucks. its been months. i know i’m an introvert, but shouldn’t i be able to find at least another crush??

I just got rejected from an internship i really wanted to get. And one of my best friends got chosen instead.

My results are mediocre.

My parents ignore me, my friends are too busy with their own lives.

Nothing’s happening, which sucks.

well your high school years are the most confusing and seemingly the most hurtful years in your young age. You learn a lot of things, everything seems to “go wrong”, and you see the negative in things.

Well i have a brother 2 years older than me, he’s 17, he seems to be doing fine even with all the homework, college, SAT and friend drama. I have a sister 5 years younger than me and she seems all happy and joyful. Well she doesn’t have all those things to think about anyways…

yah.. best i think of to say…

If you’re going to wallow in your own pity and are going to give yourself a pity party where you are the guest of honor and only guest, you will never be able to move forward.

Fresh air and exercise does the body good.
you’ll learn to distract yourself from your purposeless-ness soon enough.
Btw, hit the books.
Knowledge is exciting.

i’ve already been though pity parties at the start of the year. i know self pity is plain crap. but now i have no idea what to do. hope for change? but i don’t believe a miracle will happen if i don’t do anything, yet nothing comes to my mind on what to do. i HATE getting rejected by people around me.

Well…from the very first sentence I’m going to assume you’re still suffering for that heart break.
And then as a result you look at your life from the glummest of perspective.
Love, this feeling’ll pass…it’s ****** but it’ll pass.

you dont need guidance or a mentor to know that if you want to get internships, you need good grades. and to get good grades you need to work hard. maybe thats why your “too busy friends” are off getting the things you want, because they understand that.

ah internships
although your grades do matter alot
the most important thing is the interview…
comfidence and the way you present yourself matters aloooot
also the the most typical question asked by them would be .. why should we give you the intership?

come up with a very convincing reply and your in
i’v had a internship with a 2.5 GPA with Proctor and Gamble ..
the way you present yourself.. and your social skills matter ALot!
