Theres a guy I know has liked me for the past year…

He is pretty nice, but I really don’t feel ANYTHING for him. He hangs around where I work at the beach, he’s always on patrol so I see him all the time. I have been trying to let him down gently for ages, but anytime I even just talk to him, or smile at him he seems to get the wrong idea.
So I act grumpy and uncharming and uninterested and he still doesn’t get the hint??

I don’t want to say, “hey look dude, I don’t like you, please get that ideda out of your head and then we can be friends”. But I can’t do that….

He’s nice and everything, but I’m just not attracted to him, and theres other guys interested in me, and I’m sorta keen back - I don’t want to hurt him, but I want him to move on, so I can have a bit of fun but not wreck him…

How do I do this??

Blunt, straightforward rejection is always better than “letting him down easy”. Nobody likes to be fed a load of ****, and that’s all it is when you blow smoke up someone’s *** to spare their feelings. If he’s got half a wit about him, he knows you don’t dig on him and is in denial because you’re leaving him with some sort of false hope.

Just make sure you tell him one on one, not in front of anyone. That will really hurt.

He is blind he is so in love. You have to snap him out of his dementia. Kick him in the knees and then kick him in the teeth after you get him down. It is for his own best interests…

Yeah, Its going to have to get straightforward…I’m over him following me and smiling at me all the time, it is sweet but I don’t want him - grrrrr, and It makes me feel a bad person for not wanting him, but I really don’t care !!

I think he needs to see me with another boy, maybe that might work????
