There are 6 billion people on this planet. You are trying to label all of them based on a very limited sample.

1 - First, forget all the crap you’re talking about and focus on getting to know the teens as PEOPLE. That means taking the effort to dig for gold in their past experiences, their hopes and dreams. This is a good skill so any practice is worthwhile for the rest of your life. Do you know WHY people do all the crap you listed? Because it’s easier to label yourself with a group than to risk being vulnerable enough to be honest and open with others.

2 - Search out people like you. My high school had 1000 kids. There were plenty of them who didn’t fit any particular mold. And like I said, people who try to fit into molds usually do it as a time saver… get accepted easily rather than being themselves.

So stop looking for excuses to isolate yourself and work at it.

It is great that you are being an individual. You are doing the right thing who wants to be friends with a bunch of no brain clones? There are many people like you trust me.

Hmmmm, You have said what you don’t do but what do you like? What are you in to? You are not alone in these thoughts of yours but what you need to focus on is what you have in common with others. You will find others have the same intrests as you (whatever they may be) and can make new friends from there. Stay poisitive :)
