the short one has 40 beads in all. that means for every 32 gold beads there are 8 black beads. simplified, their is one black bead for every gold bead. that should help

if there are 48 gold beads, and there are a total of 60 beads in all, will there still be a 4/1 ratio?

Well 60 divided by 4 is 15 .. so does that not mean there are 15 blak beads

but i thought you add the ratios which is 4:1 which would equal 5 n then i dont know =[

is 48/12 equal to 4/1? if it is, then the ratios are the same. what is 48+12?

60 divided by 5 = 12

32+8=? 32/8=? 48/12=? 48+12=? the ratio needed is 4/1, and there must be 60 beads in total

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO i get itt !!

But if instead i added 4;1 which is 5 and then i

divided 60 by 5 i would get 12

is this not an easier way 2 work it out

we already have the ratio of 4/1, now we just need to multiply it so that it has a product of 60. and remember, you have to multiply both sides by the same number.

if he ratio is 12/1, then you have to divide it by thirteen, and if its not a multiple of 13, it wont work.

let ‘x’ be the number of black beads on the long chain
so by using ratios,

40/8 = 60/x

and so x = 60/5 = 12

use this everywhere you see ratios!! lol

Sixty is one and a half times forty… your answer is 32 times one and a half and 8 times one and a half.
