avatar help: Does anyone know how to put a picture onto their profile page? - Help.com

Are you looking for information on uploading an avatar or why you aren’t recieving notices on tags you’re subscribed too?

Unfortunately both of these features have been disabled until further notice. Looks like you’ll have to stick with your “letter of the alphabet” avatar. You can also Contact us with any other issues you have.

Funny, I asked the same thing just a while back and it was told to me that THAT feature of this site is brokkettedddd…dd.dddd…ddddddddd.

Thank’s for replying, i know the avatar is broken, that’s not what i meant though, i just meant on the profile page, you can write stuff & i have seen that other people have pic’s on there, i just don’t know how to do it. Im not so clued up on computers. Do you know how to do that?
I have the pic’s stored on the comp, i tried to copy & move it but no luck, really don’t know how to do it.

From what I can tell the Avvitar is the tab you put your picture in (Obvious). It’s broke(Obvious, again).

If you want to fill out the profile page, just click the tab and fill it out and click apply ( it also may be self setting.)

You;re not going to be able to upload picts from any tab, however, sorry . . .

I have wrote stuff on my profile page (im just going anon because i have been on this site for quite a while & i don’t want people that know me to know how useless i am with computer’s.)
I know the avatar option is broken but i thaught we could still put pic’s on our profile page’s?
If it’s not going as an avatar, if it’s just going in our info on profile page, can it be done? I don’t really know how to take a pic from my comp documents to put it elsewhere, im really bad with this stuff, sorry if i seem to be repeating myself, im just not so clued up.

Okay. . . When the Avitar works, there is a browse button that, when pushed, allows you to navigate to the targeted picture you desire. When targeted, their is an upload button and the sites’ guidance center imports the picture in.

When it works. Pictures may show up on the profile page - but that is not where they are imported from.

Sorry, basically your saying there is no way to put a pic on my profile page, nothing to do with avatar, just on my public profile page, that’s impossible is it?

Ten-four good buddie! Sorry. I wanted a picture, too and tried real hard from all possable angles to no avail. . . Feeling stupid (as I mentioned), I ask some people who did have picts and they told me . . .it’s broken. . .

Your welcome, anytime. I imagine that once you get familar with the site, certian features will be repaired and you can edit your profile and import your pict. Meanwhile, enjoy.

I have been on here for a long time, it’s just im not very good with computers, also, ive heard the thing’s that are broken on here won’t be fixed, there’s just more & more thing’s going wrong that will never be adressed.

Perhaps so. Let’s hope that the popularity of the site motivates the necessary repair - if noting more than for the integrity of it. Hope. . .seems to be the main theme, even here at Help.com. . . Hehehehe - gawwwww!
