So my mom recently let me know she invested a LARGE amount of money into a HYIP.

She is very excited about it and over the last few months has made a decent about of money. She is convinced that it is a good program and while I am open minded when something is too good to be true it often is. I did so research and while I have no hard evidence I am pretty sure she is going to lose a lot of money and she cant afford to lose it. My mom is a very trusting person and often does not accept that others would try to scam her.

I already expressed that I feel she needs to be careful and she says she is but now I am really worried. Not only would this be a huge blow to her self esteem, but if she looses all her money she invested she will be in trouble finacially. The problem is she is so happy and excited and has already invested in it I don’t know what to tell her or how to say it or if I should say anything and just let it play out????

I think you should tell her to at least take out some of it but leave some still invested. Like an amount that wouldn’t hurt her if she lost a lot of it. You know what I mean? That way you can still kinda feel attached to her “great find”.

show her what youve found out, and let her make up her own mind, it is, after all, her life and her money.
