this is for all you kids about 15.
the reason i’m posting this is because someone pointed a few facts out to me today that made me really start thinking, and i know this seems impossible but i think i’ve figured out the answers.
look guys, i know who you are and i know what you’re thinking. i was once in your shoes, and it took alot of heartache and alot of time before i got the point but i finally do, and here’s what it is:
right now you’re still in that magical state of hope and belief where you think you know it all and you’re parents are idiots. that they have no concept of reality but let me assure you that you are wrong.
i know what you think, you want all these great things from life. you want to be a rock star, you want to be the genius who creates the cure to cancer, and you think it’s easy.
you want love from a beautiful woman or guy, you expect them to be by your side forever and you believe they are indeed out there. but i’m going to tell you what to really believe.
as sad as this is to say; all of your dreams are worthless. all of these things you wish for are nothing but silver linings. they shine and sparkle, how you lust for them, oh how the would please you eternally if only you had them. it starts with the new game system, then it’s a BF/GF, then bigger dreams come around.
but the cold hard truth about life is that no matter how hard you hope and dream, no matter how much you work these things are truly worthless. even if you DO get that new game system in 2 years it goes obsolete and you want a new one. and GF’s? they just stab you in the back so forget that.
you wanna be a rock star? ok you are one. you’re world famous and make loads of money and have groupies and everything, but guess what? the record label wants you too write another excellent song by the end of the month or your contract is terminated, and you can’t think of anything. your family wants you to come see them on Christmas but you can’t because you have to sit all week in the studio working.
you think you can move out of dads place when you’re 18 but guess what? you don’t have a job. and you can’t seem to find one either because ossama bin laden has made the countries economy worthless
so realize now that life isn’t easy, there will always be heartache and there will always be pain. i just hope you can enjoy the time you have left in the free world
