a guy gave me his number, now i want to text him but i dont know what to write, he doesnt know my number. - Help.com

Me and my hubby got together that way :D

Met in a club on my 19th B’day and he gave me his number.
We are married with 3 kiddies now ;)

What I did was texted and said~
“Hey, it’s (your name) from (where you met)
Just texting to see if you remember me and if you want to meet up at (time and place)
Let me know if you can”

And that was it.

Yeah, don’t worry, I swear I’ve hear this about 50 times from various women, and it’s always nothing. You have no idea what’s going on on the other end. The number of good possibilities, waaaaaay out numbers the number of bad possibilities. He wouldn’t have given you his number if he was just going to change his mind about you like that. The chances that’s actually the case are so slim they’re not worth considering.
Don’t worry, just wait.

Here’s some example “good possibilities”:
he’s run out of credit, he’s run out of battery, his phone is off, he’s got his phone on silent, he’s got his phone on vibrate but didn’t feel it for one of about a hundred different reasons, he’s left his phone at home and he’s at work/out/whatever, he got the text but he’s busy at the moment so he’ll text back when he’s got some free time

Only a certain type of guy does that really, and if he’s that type, you’re better off without him.
Guys will act carefree about giving out their numbers, coz it’s how we cope when we don’t hear anything back. If you give a girl your number, they never say “ugh no, i don’t want it” they just accept and act all nice, and most of the time. So you never know, so you have to play it down and think nothing of it. And then as soon as you get the text back, then you take it as it is… and you tell all your mates and have a big party, and you get the hot girl, and ride off into the sunset and happily ever after the end. xD

But seriously, it’s nothing, don’t worry. If you ask me, you’d have to wait a week before I’d say it was okay to start worrying. Getting hold of credit can be amazingly hard to get done sometimes, either because you don’t have time, or you just forget to buy it.

How are you holding up?

True, only certain guys give out their numbers to just anyone and you don’t want that guy..lol. Just give it some time. Some guys play games just like girls. I think the going rule was to wait a whole day so that they don’t seem clingy and/or desperate…even if they are.

Aww. well if it helps, for me, it depends on how interested I am. If she’s really captivating it would be within an hour or two, though sometimes at work I miss texts, so I get them at like 9pm…lol. I might check a bit more often if I was expecting something though. But I don’t play games, and I can be desperate for attention from the right person and I’m not afraid to admit it…hey, it’s who I am, if you can’t handle it, we aren’t going to make a good couple to begin with;)
