One of my hermit crabs just died, he had surface molted and everything was going well but, then he just dried up and died.

I don’t understand why !? Now one of my other crabs surface molted and I don’t know what to do, help please!?

unfortunately, they just die sometimes. theyre fickle little buggers, much like birds and fish :S
try checking the salinity (salt content) and temp of the water and making sure its all good, other than that its just hope for the best really.

THAT. . .defies. . .words.
I hate to say this - kill it - it’s suffering, what it’s going through is not good. Crabs and turtles do not shed their shells! My sympathies - be strong.

hermit crabs move shells as they grow. that is why they are called hermit crabs.
so dont kill it.
its just moving shells. crabs and turtles do in fact shed their shells, as shell material does not grow. its just they dont usually do it all in one go as hermit crabs do.
