Frustration on the job hunt

ok I need to rant a little
Why are so many scams allowed to be on those jobs boards? I have had more issues using careerbuilder and jobing then I can believe. Companies that portray themselves as something they aren’t and what they are, are scams and pyramid schemes! BLAH!!!

They suck :( You get used to the “lingo” though and then learn to avoid them. Its just an unfortunate game of trial and error :(

Hi Mz Mo, sorry to hear your still having difficulties out there looking for work. Did you end up doing Craigslist or avoid it. I know that all the stay at home stuff is a scam and don’t trust it unless it’s a company, what have you been doing?

I have not ran into any problems like that on craigslist. Its much more evident on that site then the others. The one job I did interview with friday that I really really want was on CL. They said they would call me tomorrow so fingers crossed for that. And I have an interview to be a receptionist are a car dealership tomorrow too. But its just so infuriating that at least 50% of post job sites are scams or complete false advertisement.

It has been companies.. Thats what makes it such a headache I accepted an interview tomorrow with what a marketing company. And then I google it and all sorts of rip-off reports came up. So I will not be attending that one

Sounds like some good jobs possible for you. Yeah there was a person on here who was doing that pyramid scheme and I told him to get off and so did some other people and 10 minutes later one of the mods here banned his account. He was being a jerk to too.

Good thing you caught it, what a pain. Maybe more of that stuff is out there because of so many people out of work there are way more scams.

Heres my question should I call them and tell them why I am not attending the interview? I all ready e-mail monster.com to tell them about it, and how they really need to work on not allowing scamers to post on their site.

That would be nice of you to do, maybe they will change the way they do things.

I doubt that. from just one of the reports it sounds like its how they have done it for awhile.

http://www.ripoffreport.com/Sales-Peo…

theres the report… and thats not even the company they said I was interviewing with. Jamie, the women I spoke too called it Summit Advertising, which didnt even exists except in MN. I had to google the number and address she told me. And this was what popped up

Well in that case, I think that you should not bother with them, when you don’t show up I think they will figure it out. Hopefully they don’t bother you for anything else.
That was eye opening I am sure for you, I am so glad you didn’t get sucked into that, what a nightmare! You are smart to check into everything first, it is really sad people get pulled into that stuff.

How do you go about reporting something to the BBB?
