I am married and have 2 children and one on the way.

My son is 14months and my little girl is 2 weeks old who is actually my biological sister. I took her in because of my mothers mental health condition. I am 7 months and expecting a baby girl. Things were going just fine up until the week before her adoption. My husband was working a ok job on salary, but he got laid off last week. Im freaked. I don’t know what were going to do we have no savings and he didn’t get anything from his job. What is out there to help. We have enough for this months and next months rent and utilities and that is it. What help can we petition…and from whom?

Do you work? If not, why don’t you both try to find jobs and whoever doesn’t get the job first stays home with the kids. It worked in Mr. Mom

Apply for foodstamps! Do not be ashamed. 1 in 4 american are on foodstamps. Also check and see if there is any way your Mom can contribute to the care of her baby. That might ease some of the pressure. Your husband can also apply as a substitute teacher wherever you live. They get paid per day and its a great gig in between jobs. You guys can also check craigslist. There are tons of people on there who are willing to pay for help moving or help with their kids. I hope this helps.

Your husband should be able to get 6 mo paternity leave for your 2 week old baby. But if she still legally belongs to your mom you should be able to get $ for foster care. At least that’s how it works here in Winnipeg.
