first of all wash your hands with a non scented soap, or at least a scent that doesn’t smell like any sort of fruit or food.. cause they will try to bite if you smell like a tasty snack. and after that, i dont really know. i’ve never owned one.
well i know that you have to wash your hands before and after you pick them up.. i just dont want to hurt my dwarf rat when I pick her up… yesterday i picked her up and her tail popped.. and it worries me that i may have hurt her.

Buy them a drink first and then ask them what their sign is.
That’s how most of the girls that I know get picked up.
yea.. i pick it up all the time.. but to get her out of her cage i usually have to grab her by the tail.. but once i have her in my hands she is ok and she will just sit on my shoulder… but it just worried me that yesterday when i was getting her out of her cage to clean it, her tail popped and now its turning a darkish purple :( and i didnt mean to hurt her so i was just wondering if it would hurt her if i picked her up by the scruff of her neck.. cuz i dont wanna hurt her again.. that would be terrible

I would saw that it would be better to pick her up by the scruff of her neck than the tail. You cant put your hands by either side of her and scoop her up? Is she too fast!?

no she runs away.. shes stubborn… shes too fast.. she runs into a corner or up in her hiding place

well when i corner her she jumps and bites and stuff lol she like being elusive
Hmm… sounds like a bit of a trouble maker!! I think you should just try picking her up by the scruff of the neck gently and see how she takes it!
