My Philips 42″ large flat screen plasma TV has no display, blue power light on, but TV clicks when plugged into power. - Help.com

My Philips 42″ large flat screen plasma TV has no display, blue power light on, but TV clicks when plugged into power.

Like it’s trying to come on. No storms, power is good. Started this morning when remote was clicked to turn on. I removed batteries in remotes just to make sure button was not sticking. Blue power light comes and clicking begins once TV is plugged in. Tried to turn off while plugged in. No luck. Is there a master reset?

Sounds like a transistor fried. If it’s new, it could just be a lemon. You’ll have to contact the manufacturer.

Maybe it’s set to the wrong input, such as your dvd player. Have you tried the menu button?

If it is still under warranty take it back if not then sell it for parts because it is done. Hope this helps :-)

problem could one of a few things,
A: a bad power supply, the cheapest and simplest repair.
B: bad main board, not much more expensive than the power supply.
C: a bad control board, rather difficult to replace and expensive
or D: a bad pdp, in that case unless you’re under warranty i’d chunk it.
plasmas suck, never buy one again
and Philips has the second highest failure rate on PDP TV’s next to RCA.
