Is the “hitler youth” haircut a legitimate name?

Okay so I’m interested in getting this hair style, but I feel like it’s just a nickname for the real name of it.

Do I really just go up to the barber and say “I want a Hitler Youth haircut please”?

it just feels…. weird.

is that normal? (as you can tell, I’m a complete noob when it comes to hairstyles as I’ve only recently started caring about it)

normal as in, do people normally print a photo of it and take it to the barber?

Yeah well none of my friends have their hair like that too bad. You don’t have to be Jewish to beat up someone who looks like that. HAHA. Might as well go with a Hitler ’stache too

you walk in say short back,sides and top barber says what number you say 3 they cut hair you pay then £6 you walk out job done! then down to the pub to try and get served

yes bring a photo.
though, i might go to a “stylist” rather than a barber. stylists tend to be a little more willing to take the time to give you a fashion cut, barbers just shear the sheep. unless you happen to know a really hip barber.
and definitely use the term “under cut”.

I’m a hairstylist and I give this haircut quite often. sometimes i hear it referred to as the “1940’s military cut”
basically quite a lot of guys during the time of WWI had their hair clipper short around the ears and longer across the top, and they would comb and side part the top. where as today, the trend is to keep the top drastically longer and a bit choppier, as well as taking the sides very short and under cutting it.

in my opinion the “hitler youth cut” that we are seeing today is more a hybrid of the 40’s cut (that was not just reserved for nazi youth culture) and the 80’s cut sported by bands like flock of seagulls or jesus and mary chain.

all these folks telling you you’ll get beat up by jewish people or by your barber if you sport this haircut are just totally ignorant.
i agree with PheeGee that this cut looks hot on most guys.
