A hunter leaves his home and walks 3 miles due south.

He then walks 12 miles due east.
He sees a bear and kills it.
He brings the bear back to his home by the shortest route which is 3 miles.

What color is the bear and why?

3 miles south then 12 miles east.. surely it would be longer than 3 miles back home.

I predict brown, as bears are usually brown :p

Nope! Still only 3 miles back home.
Kitzici is on the right track all she needs is the why? part to the question. You guys are getting good. 2the point…Your asking the right question about questioning the miles to the hunters home. Give it a little more thought.

Good going so far guys

it can’t possibly be three miles back to his house..surely 12.73 miles would be the shortest way possible?

well what about if his home was the whole like north pole so if he travelled 3 miles south and 12 miles east, then he would only have to travel 3 miles back north to be back in the north pole? haha i know that has to be wrong!! so it is a polar bear yea?

Its a polar bear, he lives on the north pole. He walked three miles south, around the earth 12 miles, and still had only 3 miles left to walk back to the south pole. Pwnt.

Except there is one problem. There is no bear, there is no man, and there is no house. Because there is no land at the north pole.
