I’m sure this woun’t work but I need to try anything that could work.

Well, this is my story and I asure you that it is the truth as strange as it may sound. About year and a half ago I was working for a goverment position and was told that that position was going to be removed by 2007. I was working hard to see what I could do to change positions or stay in the system but that was not looking good. A few months later I became i’ll at work and was sent to the hospital for possible heart attack. Thank God it was’nt but high stress disorder that can feel like one. I was off work for a few months and began to look for another job in the same field that i was currently in. I had almost 15 years of experience and a lot a schooling behind me so I was confident that I could find other work. I desided to go to Colorado to test and I did and I tested very well and was in the top 5% of those that tested. I found a house and put down money to have it built and went back home where our house was already on the market. When I came back I found out that we were expecting a new addition to the family. I was so happy, we already have a beautiful two year old daughter. We were packing and I was finishing my time left at my current work with a completion date of the last week of June 2006.

This is were things start to change, we found out that my wife was having complications and was put on bed rest. I decided to put in my resignation early (1st of May 2006) so that I could finish packing, take care of my wife and daughter and make sure everything was ready to go by the end of June. I was waiting to hear from Coloardo on my final report from my back ground check when we got a letter saying I was disquailfied for the position. I called and asked why and they said they could not disclose that information but I could hire my own investigator to find out. Well, I did just that only to find out that I had been a victum of identity theft and that was an automatic disqualification for any goverment job. I spent one year and 12,000 dollare to get this job. I had quit my other job early to mske this all happen on time. Now I have no job a house for sale, my wife expecting with complications, and I needed to findout what to do to clear my name. Eight months later (Jan of 2007) I have called the FBI, lawyers, FTC, AIG, local law enforcment, IRS, social security and many other agencies to get help. We found out that my SS# was being used by many other people to gain imployemnt all over the US. My credit was afected and so I can’t get any loans or refinance because my score is low and we are working on removing all the false information that has been discoverd. We have tried everything I can think of. Family has done as much as they can to get us through. I have been working doing odd jobs, mowing grass, washing cars, painting and even being a buss boy at a resteraunt just to bring in any money at all. I went from making good money with full benifits to nothing at all. I am sill looking for work and have some prospects but they are still several months away. We have lost the baby, lost one car that we sold for money, and about to lose our home. I have sold anything that was mine that I did not need to make ends meet but we just are out of funds and time. I have no idea what to do anymore. I feel like my entire life has been taken away from me. We are holding on by string, we love each other very much and keep hoping that some one or some thing will come and rescue us from this nightmare. I have looked into loans and grants to help but I do not know much about grants to help us and time is of the essence. If you have any idea or can help in any way possible and I mean anything please ley me know. I wan’t to get back on my feet and working and my family means the world to me and I wan’t to make sure they are safe, protected and taken care of. Please help if you can.

I hate to tell you this after everything you’ve been through. This is not a loan site. I don’t think you’ll get any kind of financial assistance here.
I can tell you that I have been where you are, and eventually, something will give. Either you and your family will start living within the modest means you now bring in, or you will lose it all.

If I were you, I would let them take the house, as long as you are all together, you will have a home wherever life takes you. It’s not all about the johnson’s anymore. Now you should just be worrying about surviving. If you really want to keep your house, go get a full time job. Anywhere, doing anything. Tell your bank that you have your mortgage with that you got a job, and would like to work out arrangements. They may be able to stick your late payments on the end of your loan. If not, contact the CAC thats Community Action Commission. They are in the phone book under your county office listings. Call them and see if they can help you. They will only be able to help you if you have some sort of full time employment.

Other charities do still exist. If your wife is not working, suggest to her to go looking for help if at all possible. It sounds like you two need to forget about the life you had. It’s not going to happen that way anymore. And start figuring out what to do with the life you have.

I am sorry to hear of your loss of the baby. God is great, he must’ve known what troubles were already in store for you and your family. I pray that at a later date you will be ready to recieve his blessing.

Good luck!

You could try the Modest Needs dot org site and see what they can do… You’ll have to join but they have some resources that can possibly help you for the long term too… check it out and see what you think… that are not a cure all site but any help is better than none… I have also been a victim of identify theft and it’s a long haul from start to finish… I feel for you… it will get better at some point… you’ve been through alot… you could also join Prosper dot com and see if you can get a consolidation loan but you’ll probably be High Risk and you’ll pay high interest.. but check them out… one of the leaders of a group is on this site.. you could hook up and ask him questions and get info too… much luck to you…

These are a few steps to take to make sure that you are protected from Identity Theft. All information here is provided by “Fighting Back Against Identity Theft”, Federal Trade Commission, and can be found at their web site for more information. http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/microsites…

Protect your Social Security number
Don’t carry your Social Security card in your wallet or write your Social Security number on a check. Give your Social Security number only when absolutely necessary, and ask to use other types of identifiers. If your state uses your Social Security number as your driver’s license number, ask to substitute another number. Do the same if your health insurance company uses your Social Security number as your policy number.
Your employer and financial institutions will need your Social Security number for wage and tax reporting purposes. Other businesses may ask you for your Social Security number to do a credit check if you are applying for a loan, renting an apartment, or signing up for utilities.
Sometimes, however, they simply want your Social Security number for general record keeping. If someone asks for your Social Security number, ask:
Why do you need my Social Security number?
How will my Social Security number be used?
How do you protect my Social Security number from being stolen?
What will happen if I don’t give you my Social Security number?
If you don’t provide your Social Security number, some businesses may not provide you with the service or benefit you want. Getting satisfactory answers to these questions will help you decide whether you want to share your Social Security number with the business. The decision to share is yours.

Be on guard when using the Internet
The Internet can give you access to information, entertainment, financial offers, and countless other services but at the same time, it can leave you vulnerable to online scammers, identity thieves and more. For practical tips to help you be on guard against Internet fraud, secure your computer, and protect your personal information, visit www.OnGuardOnline.gov.

Verify a source before sharing information
Don’t give out personal information on the phone, through the mail, or on the Internet unless you’ve initiated the contact or are sure you know who you’re dealing with. Identity thieves are clever, and have posed as representatives of banks, Internet service providers (ISPs), and even government agencies to get people to reveal their Social Security number, mother’s maiden name, account numbers, and other identifying information.
Before you share any personal information, confirm that you are dealing with a legitimate organization. Check an organization’s website by typing its URL in the address line, rather than cutting and pasting it. Many companies post scam alerts when their name is used improperly. Or call customer service using the number listed on your account statement or in the telephone book.

Remember first and foremost that your rights and protection is your responsibility. Don’t give out information that can be accessed freely by non government licensed entities. If you feel that you have had your identity stolen go here and report it immediately. https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/widtpubl$…. Hope this helps :-)
