I have nightmares all the time.
Sometimes thay aren’t even scary but weird and I wake up with a freaked out feeling. I don’t know why I have them. I’ve had them since I was a little girl. Sometimes I try so hard to wake up and I just can’t. I’m inbetween awake and asleep. I hate them already and wish they would go away. Anyone else suffer from these toxic dreams?? Just wondering.

I personally don’t but you may want to see a doctor who specializes sleep disorders.
well i used to when i was a little girl. but i went through something and they stoped. now i have no dreams and i miss them. even the scary and creepy ones. i live in a slow dream-less life. i really wish i could. im different already so the dreams dont make a difference.
I had the same problem before, when you get to that state, “hard to wake up and I just can’t. I’m inbetween awake and asleep”. First, don’t panic, then start counting from 1 to 3 then simply open your eyes, it’s worked for me I hope it’ll work for you too.
Mee too, sometimes same thing happen to me and I feel someone jumped on me and he hold my moth and I can’t move or shout and even I can’t wake up. But I think this is get better if u don’t ever think about that. wish u sweet dreams ****Parsa****

You may have nightmares because of a traumatic event. You should see your doctor asap.

Do the nightmares have a common theme?
Do you write them down when you wake up?
I used to have the same nightmare when I was a child. It sounds so stupid now that I am an adult but I would wake up scared and freaked out. There was a green man with blue hair chasing me through a crooked house. I haven’t had that dream for quiet sometime. Now I just dream of evil. They really don’t make sense while I am awake but while i’m dreaming, they make perfect sense. I don’t need to write them down because ever since I was a little girl, I am able to remember all the dreams I have. Sometimes I have 3 or 4 dreams a night and I wake up after every single one and my brain processes them like an episode or something. I get it from my mom because she remembers her dreams as well. I tried doing the dream interpreting but I just don’t believe it. A lot of that stuff doesn’t pertain to me. Maybe it is some of my fears mainfesting itself into my dreams. I don’t think I have had any trauma that force these dreams to present themselves. Here is a part of a paper I wrote for one of my psychology classes:
At a very young age I began to recall very vivid and sometimes strange dreams. I would be able to feel the coldness of the ice cold drink that was in my hand and the warmth of the sun on my skin. When I was 13 years old, I had my very first kiss was in a dream. I say this because it felt so real-as I later on that year found out.
I have always believed that dreams hold some kind of secrets that may or may not be a glimpse of a deeper level of understanding. Although many of my dreams may have the perception of reality, none have yet to intersect with actual reality. I do however wake up from nightmares on occasion freighted and perplexed. My nightmare aftershock lasts no longer than a few minutes and I quickly drift back into another dream. The most frequent occurrence on many of my nightmares is paralysis accompanied by a level of semi-consciousness.
A very particular dream has followed me throughout most of my life. I had a somewhat traumatic experience at age 5 with a very mean and racist middle aged mother of two children older than I was. The dream has no logical connection to that experience but that is when the dream presented itself and began to reoccur. I cannot seem to understand this dream while I am awake even though I cannot resist pondering it and trying to make sense of it. However it seems to make perfect sense when I am dreaming. My vivid and strange dreams occur almost every night. I usually experience at least two dreams a night that I remember. I like to recall them and wonder about the significance but never place too much emphasis on the meaning. I talk about them with my mother and we share our dream experiences on a daily basis.
I believe the fascinations with dreams are due to the mysteries that lie beneath them. Dreams occur in the deepest level of sleep that is imperative to our survival. At the time of dreams our brains are in REM sleep and our bodies are in complete rest yet our brains are very active. I think this brings the desires to explain the unknowns that are festering in our minds. The brain is with no question the most powerful and important muscle of not only humans beings but to any beings that have one. The fact that dreams cannot be explained at this point in time will only bring more questions until-if ever we can explain them

Chase
To dream that you are being chased, signifies that you are avoiding a situation that you do not think is conquerable. It is often a metaphor for some form of insecurity. In particular, to dream that you are chased by an animal, represents your own unexpressed and unacknowledged anger which is being projected onto that animal. Alternatively, you may be running away from a primal urge or fear.
To dream that you are chasing someone, signifies that you are attempting to overcome a difficult goal or task. You may also be expressing some aggressive feelings toward others.

REM sleep does paralyse the body so that when we dream we end up not hurting ourselves. For some this REM state lasts into a semi-conscious state like you describe.
I think the nightmares are trying to get you to remember a time place or situation that you would like to forget or trying to forget? Its hard when you have them and not sure doctors or shrinks can do anything for you maybe antidepressent? I am so glad I dont have them but my nightmare is reality over bills and other things as well!! Help us people to solve her problems where she can sleep!!!
Yes. I have been having nightmares about people killing me and i would like help too. Does anyone know how to help?

I get horrendous nightmares, just woke up from one in fact. Prozac will stop them.
I’ve had the same problem since I could remember. Ever since I was very little, I’ve had dreams where I’ve hit the ground and stayed awake. I’ve been chased, and spoken to by demons in my dreams. The older I get, the more complex my dreams become–even to the point of having plots and riddles to solve. My mother has a similar problem, but her’s was caused my PTSD. I spent most of my childhood inside. My dreams have never had anything to do with any traumatic experiences. Sometimes I find my nightmares becoming more fun than scarey, though. I dream every night, though, and have never had the same dream twice.
There are a few medicines that are supposed to keep you from dreaming. I don’t recall what ones. I won’t take any because these nightmares have sort of become fun for me. I feel like they are part of who I am.
