i have recently bought a sony dvd rw aw-g170a.
but am unable to get it to burn any dvds. As soon as i insert a dvd-r or a dvd+r the drive becomes only a cd drive according to xp pro which i am running. I have tried flashing new firmware but this also has not worked can anyone help. the dvd drive oes come up as a dvd-ram when i put in a ordinary dvd which do play but then reverts back to cd when i try to burn a dvd. None of my dvd burners recognise the device either.
