I accidentally just spilled water all over the keyboard of my macbook pro.

The screen immediately went dark, and i wiped off all the excess water and turned it off. I then waited a few minutes and turned it back on, and everything seems to be fine. All the keys are working, and at first i could hear the fan going, but then i closed it and it stopped and now its totally fine. Any opinions??

yaeh or even try putting it in rice, it absorbs the water. but i think if you heard the fan going that was a good sign because it was clearing out the water, i honestly think it should be fine now

The same thing happened to me except worse. After drying it with a towel I frantically tried powering it on. Twice it gave me a white screen with the loading circle. Then it wen’t black both times. Then four or more times later it wouldnt respond.
I now know that I should have tried to turn it on at all because of the possibility of short circuiting.

I know you sent it to get it fixed. What are the results? How is everything on your hard drive? Everything recoverable? Did you have to pay any more? What is the status?

Thanks.

I’m freaking out. I did the fan while upside down trick, as well as putting it in rice in an air tight container.
It still is in a container… I don’t want to try to turn it on for a week.

Any advice? Is my computer and its contents at all salvageable? I’m really scared
