Is vegetarianism really going to save animals?

If they are no longer useful as food, won’t they just be killed or hunted to endangerment?

well the excess would probally be killed off and then it just be survival of the fittest like it’s been for the millions of years before… but seriously you think everyone in the world would become a vegatarian??

No, I don’t think everyone in the world will become a vegetarian. I have see videos showing horrible things in an effort to convince people to become vegetarians, and the replies are equally horrible; they don’t care. I think that if people limited the amount of meat and type of meat they ate it would be much better instead of just quitting altogether. I’m not a vegetarian, but I don’t approve of the way animals are raised and killed for their meat, eggs, or milk.

I think that total veg. would not be the best idea; it might be better if you just limit the amount and type of meat you eat. For example: Eating only one serving of 100% organic meat a day, instead of five servings of whatever meat is cheepest. What do you think?

If they are ment to be here the only thing that can keep them here is god. If so or if not is all up to him.

Gods got nothing to to with it.Even if he’s real he gave us free choice so if we decide to kill all the animals its down to us.

Good point, but He told us to manage the animals. I don’t think He wants us to kill them all.

No, that would upset the balance of things. God doesn’t just mindlessly do things, He has rules that He makes the things in our lives follow. One of those rules is that every action has an equal and opposite reaction. If they reproduced too fast, one way or another, everything would be thrown out of wack.

Well, I guess you could say that. I guess even though He doesn’t want us to sin, when we get to Heaven we won’t be sinning. I guess if He wants the food-producing animals to survive, He’ll find someone who will rescue them. Or He knows that no one will ever stop the animal-food industry, so He doesn’t have to step in.

No, if all 6 billion people on earth were vegetarian, we’d kill off even more animals than we do today. Total vegetarianism means that we can’t draw from our ocean food sources, meaning we would need to use even more land to grow our crops. Plant eaters would therefor be seen as pests in a society of vegetarians and therefor kept out, and in some cases killed.

Also we have to look at the fact that not all countries in the world have the opportunity to live as vegetarians. Her for example, there are very few edible plants that can live in this hostile environment. It’s simply too cold here for vegetables to survive. Sure, we can grow potatoes, but you’d be pretty tired of life if you had potatoes for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day… lol. If it wasn’t for the ocean and the animals we keep, no one would ever have settled down on these islands.

soy beans and soy products.

theres about 10g ofprotien in one glass of soy milk, and in land terms its MUCH less than for animals.
I read that if you go vegan for one year you save one acre of forest from being cut down by farmers and meat growers. you can feed far more ppl on one field of soy than on a paddock of sheep or cows.

and i dont think we have the right to kill animals without thinking about it :-)
better just to eat one kindly treated home grown chicken per week or something along those lines, than factory farming practises which are so cruel.

Well, the problem with soya beans is that they won’t grow just anywhere. Our climate isn’t suitable for that. Now sheep on the other hand… they grow quite nicely here. lol

I don’t think vegetarianism opposes the Bible; I haven’t found any verses commanding us to eat meat. It says we can, but we don’t have to.

I don’t mind the idea of eating animals, I just don’t approve of factory farming. I like the idea that you should have to raise and kill your own meat. If you can’t stomach the idea of killing an animal to eat, then you shouldn’t eat meat that has been killed by someone else while you weren’t looking. What do you guys think?
