Ok so my playstation 2 plays games just fine but when

watching dvds it plays for about an hour then says its unable to read the disk, its done this with multiple dvds. is this just a wear n tear thing since its gettin kinda old?

It’s possible your lens needs to be cleaned. They should have a disk-shaped thingy that does it, I have one for my Wii that works beautifully. Look online, I’m sure you could find one.

Most of those disks are not meant for video game systems. Could be the lens or a heating issue.

There are ones made SPECIFICALLY FOR video game systems, which is why I said check online, as the PS2 is old and they likely won’t find one in store anymore.
