Would someone mind reading this post please?

I am repeating it so maybe someone else will answer it. Thanks.

This one time i was in my classroom and I randomly jumped up and smashed a wall just because i was bored.

Then I stood up on my desk, and jumped onto my teachers desk then ran out the school all the way to my house and jumped into my bed.

This was four years ago…

Can you imagine how immature I was for a thirteen year old? How many people do that kind of stuff?? The thing is, I have matured so much over the last few years, im still pretty emotional and stuff (i cry VERY easy) but I dont do crazy things like the above story anymore.

You could probably say back then that i did that kind of stuff all the time. If you want to know, i was diagnosed with ADHD when i was 5, and ever since, im always, moving. Even when im really calm, i have to move my legs or something. I always have to be moving! Fourtantly, I have matured, so I am able to manage my randomness and inability to stop moving.

What im getting at is has anyone else had the kind of experiences i have had? you get ADHD, start acting up all the time, and you are made fun of a lot at school. Since you act so differently, you are ridiculed and laughed at becuase you act strange. I didnt even realize how strange i was when i was younger until i started reflecting about a year ago with my psychologist.

So, has anyone had childhood like mine? Being violent, misbehaved and all out random weirdo? Hey, maybe you had a good childhood and you used your ADHD to your advantage. People who have ADHD tend to have more energy in sports…

I really would like to hear from people. Thanks a lot for taking the time to read this.

Hey, i dont think i had anything as extreme, but when i was younger i used to lock myself in the back room for hours and basically beat up myself and trash the room.
And with the constant moving thing.. If you mean you are just generally restless all the time then maybe having something like blutack with you at all times would be a good idea? Ive found its easier to concentrate when fiddling with something.. Anything that takes your mind off what youre supposed to be concentrating on a bit, but not enough that you completely miss out.
I know im not exactly older or a professional, but this is just my opinion.
Hope you get some more answers :]

My child hood sucks, ADD/ADHD are very disruptive when not managed correctly (NOT ALWAYS DRUGS). This is what I wrote to someone else

I also have ADHD and let me first state that ADD and ADHD are benefits if they are treated properly, that doesn’t always mean drugs.

ADD and ADHD are evolution characteristics of the hunter personally; it is our survival system, it allows us to think faster and more complex then the average person. The problem is not in the ADD/HD, it is in how we understand it, treat it and surround ourselves in environments that nurture it.

We lose focus, get distracted and act out when we get bored, uninterested or have too much energy. I cannot listen to someone talk for great length about a subject that does not interest me, but I can play the same game of chess for 3 hours without blinking, simply because I am using my best God given gift, my mind.

Example One: If you are a parent of a child who was a very fast runner, would you lock him in a room or take them to a track? Of course you would take them to a track, you encourage the talents, not hinder them.

Well your AD/HD is a talent, focus on what can help, find ways to simulate their minds, if we find something that interests us, we usually hyper-focus, and can spend hours fixated on what ever activates is exercising the mind.

I have found great benefit from drinking coffee (stimulant), and lots of it, a pot in the morning at least. In addition, I exercise to release the energy that gives me the overactive behaviours and finally, I try the find ways to engage my mind, not limit it.

Hope this helps someone out there,

Jason

Maybe if you had gotten involved in sports or other activities you wouldn’t have felt the need to do things like that. At least you have matured enough now to realize the mistakes and hopefully not make them again. There is nothing wrong with being emotional - I also cry easily. But there is a time and a place for it.
