To Homeschool or Not to Homeschool?

This has been a big question for a lot of parents.  It was for me.  I look in the school system today and see teachers well equipt to teach, for the most part, but no able (due to limits set on them by the school) able to “train” the children.  Only give information and increase their knowledge.  Many people feel as if, “well, the school can teach them basic knowledge, and then I can teach them about life, instill values in them, and other such things.”  But as chlidren spend the majority of their week with their peers, learning from other children these “moral values”, “life lessons”, and what may or may not be true in this life and their world… we are often in competition in teaching them our own values and such.   And to add to this delema, many parents now have BOTH entered the workforce for one reason or another, and the child is sometimes left with daycare even afterschool… or with babysitters, or the mom who works at home in the afternoons.  So much in society attempts to draw us away from our families and the joy that is formed within a close family unit.  We gain a great home and work extra to pay the notes, but have no  real “family” to live in it.  We drive expensive cars, but family dates are rairly planned and often avoided due to children not getting along or parents arguing with one another or with the children.  Dad comes home so late that he rarely sees the kids.  But, having a close and unified supportive family is what builds confident children and strong adults who, in turn, produce other strong families.  And if schooling is open in your state to do at home… what an awsome OPERTUNITY to further unify your family, grow together, learn together, and so much more!  I would always in courage any parent who is able or interested in homeschooling to look at it..and see if it is duable for you… because the benefits of it are so awsome!.. and not just for the children…but for you as well.

I think it’s okay to be home schooled JUST during middle school because in elementary school kids learn to interact with eachother in different environments and in middle school changes begin to happen and sometimes it seems better to deal with them at home and not worry about what others think of you. By the time highschool comes around most kids are more mature and can understand and get along good from commmon sense. And highschool is the time when you decide who u want to be in life and what you want to happen. highschool is an experience nobody should miss out on. Middle school is okay but it’s the easiest to stay out of because changes in personality happen and from my own experience it wasn’t all that easy to concentrate on work with all that went on during middle school.

Personally, I don’t think your child/children should be home schooled at all. the only exeption to this, would be if your child has some sort of learning difficulty, Or behaviour problem which would make integration into a mainstream school a problem. You cannot wrap your kids in cotton wool and bubble wrap all their life. They need to mix with other children, preferably from an early age, make friends, and enjoy the years which, lets face it, are the best years of your life.

Let your children grow.

Hello,
I am not a mother but am also saved. I am anly 18 years old and i know what your going through. it may not be the same situation but theres always one in the family. I have a sister and i know the reason she acts out is because all she wants is attention and most of the time its because my mother was never in our lives. So my grandmother and so much to handle. Especially her because shes suppose to be the role model. But we must pray and trust that God is able and not fain. WE walk by faith and not by sight. The DEVIL wants you to see all the things that you may feel you cant go through but its no more i but the Christ that live in me. I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me.We must pray and not faint. No point of praying and know that we cant go on any longer. The flesh is gonna always feel what it wants. But we can only over come with God the father and the holyghost.
