I would say the problem is that either the picture isn’t actually being hosted anywhere or the wrong weblink is being used. Are you using your own picture, or one suggested by Help.com from it’s archives?

Hmm. Well, you did things correctly. Try using a different picture. If you still don’t see an image, I will forward this as a bug report to the webmaster.

I’ll get on this immediately. I’ve sent an email to our webmaster. He’ll figure out if a bug is preventing your image from appearing. Check back tomorrow…

So, to clarify, you are using the “Find a New Avatar” search and then clicking on one of the results, correct?

Ooops, looks like I missed something. Give that form a try again, I just updated the functionality of the “Find a new” option.

If that is NOT what you are trying to use, I need more details about what image you are trying to upload, or where it’s linked from.

Go back to the Avatar page and give your browser a “hard refresh” for me. Hold down control, shift and click the reload icon.

Also, what browser/os are you on? Versions?

Yeah, green arrows in a little circle.

Being that you are at a school, there may be some kind of filters or something put in to place. As best I can tell, this should work for you. (Testing in IE works for myself now)

Perhaps you can try again from home later? Or a different machine may do the trick.
