so, i am wondering what size of amp i am going to need to power some speakers in my truck.

i have 2, 8 inch speakers with tweeters. and i also have a 12 inch rockford fosgate sub. not sure of their exact wattage or model.

Well you can go by the Rms rating on the sub and the 8in + tweets. Are you using the 8in as mids? Or just wire it all mono? A 175-300 watt amp for the I’m and teeets will be fine. 2ohms x 75-150 and if you had a 300 watt amp just wire it mono for the 12 inch. I imagine th rms rating is like 1200 watts so 1 ohm x 3-600 watts is doable

yes, the 8’s would be the mids. i can use em as lows too, if i had to. i used to run them just off the power from the deck and still would get pulled over. but that was when i was a dumb kid.

would it be better to get 2 amps rather than trying to run all three off the same amp?
