Have you considered a psychologist instead?

Psychiatrists prescribe medication to solve your mental or emotional problems. They deal with diagnosing people with mental disorders and trying to fix the problem with chemicals.

Psychologists try to help you work through your issues by talking about it, or by changing your behaviors or environment. They tend to have a better track record, in my experience and are less likely to (email removed) your brain up.

Do you go to school? Your school may have a counselor who could guide you in the right direction. They deal with this kind of thing a lot and probably know someone you can talk with for free.

Alternatively, you could try looking online to places like help.com, or help.com’s chat room. There might be people there willing to listen and help, but it wouldn’t be anything like a dedicated therapist.

Have you spoken with your family about this need? If you have medical insurance, mental health may be covered and you could get free help that way.

Then I suggest you talk with your doctor. He/She will be able to tell you.

Id imagine so, if you told your GP you didn’t want anyone else to find out im sure they’d understand.

See if a friend’s parent is travelling that way, or consider taking a bike, if it isn’t too far. Why don’t you want your parents to find out?

Parents may generally feel like they are part of the reason that their kids are messed up. I know that my mom felt that way when I tried to access help. Even though they feel that, they usually still like to be a part of the solution. I’d say that after a few sesiions, you should tell them Ask the psychologist for advice on how to bring it up, if you wish.

Don’t tell them the reason, or tell them a portion of the reason that you are going. What did he do?

well he use to hit me and still makes threats, he never talks to me unless he wants something or to shout. he never taken an intrest in my life or asks how school went or anything like that. when i do things my best is never good enough. he use to make me play football and i would always try my hardest to make him happy but all hee ever did was shout saying it wasent good enough and he even got banned from afew games. the only advice he has ever given is if i have an argument i should smash there head in the wall when they turn around and kick them on the floor. whenever i try to talk to him he always makes everything look like someone elses fault. and some other stuff as well

Ok, so tell your parents that you were being bullied a lot and that it affected you. Tell them that the only way to get better is to see somebody about it. (They don’t need to know that it’s your dad.) I’m sorry that your dad didn’t know how to be a good example for you to follow.

Arguments about you going to see somebody bc of being bullied? How old are you? under 18 I presume? DO you think that you can wait until you are 18 to see somebody? You won’t need his permission then, and bc you’ll be older, you’ll likely have your own job and money for the fare. I also suggest speaking to the guidance counsellor atyour school. They might have suggestions.

What if you called a grandparent or uncle or aunt? An older cousin? Somebody who could make an excuse to take you out, but actually take you to the doctor?

I’d make a post about how to get a job, do a resume and getting through an interview. Appearance is shallow, but it helps a lot. Communication skills are a big seller.
