Everyone is talking about Global Warming, but few people are doing anything about it.
Here is a chance for YOU to actually do something about
GLOBAL WARMING.
A GREAT, BUT ALMOST FORGOTTEN, IDEA BY FORD MOTOR COMPANY:
“The day will come when the notion of car ownership becomes antiquated. If you live in a city, you don’t need to own a car.”
—–William Clay Ford, Jr., CEO, Ford Motor Company
November 12, 2000—The Observer
William Clay Ford sees a future where Ford owns vehicles and makes them available to motorists as and when they need access to transport. Ford, however, has chosen not to pursue this great idea.
In the meantime, many small Car Sharing Companies are rapidly expanding Ford’s original idea, and are empowering people all over the world to live well without owning so many personal cars and trucks.
Over 30 million American households own 3 or more cars. If these households absolutely need this many cars, it is only fair that they pay additional taxes/fees to support highway maintenance/upkeep and local transit options. There should be a significantly higher tax/fee for each additional car registered after the first car at each household. This is one way to raise the revenues needed to help keep our highways in good shape and to provide better energy(oil)-saving, local transit options. It is also a good way, a good incentive, to help reduce the overall number of cars on the road and Global Warming.
Many other ways to reduce the number of cars on the road can be found in the great plan detailed in the following summary:
SUBJECT: ENDING THE WORLD’S ADDICTION TO OIL–EMPOWERING THE PEOPLE TO FIGHT GLOBAL WARMING AND TRAFFIC CONGESTION
Please be advised that there is an important new book available on subject.
The book is: “HOW TO LIVE WELL WITHOUT OWNING A CAR” by Chris Balish.
This book provides a voluntary, step-by-step, plan to empower all people in the fight to reduce the number of cars on the road, to break the world’s addiction to oil, and to stop global warming. Car sharing is an important part of this plan.
This is a good plan that could be a great plan if governments would offer creative economic incentives to further encourage its adoption.
