its for charity and its a dollar! relax! I am also advertising my justgiving site on facebook, I am trying to raise as much as possible so I thought I would give it a go, whats the harm??

plus people are less likely to donate when you’ve titled your post “donate a dollar to ME” not “donate to charity”… makes it sound fishy.

It’s really dangerous for people to donate money to some random person on the internet, even if it appears to be for a charitable cause. This kind of thing could so easily be a scam that it really isn’t good for anybody to donate unless there’s some way to verify the identity of the recipient.

Ima only asking people to donate a dollar! And its through paypal! Noone has to give bank details, names or anything. I just thought it was worth a shot, didnt realise people were so miserable and mean!

good point about the me part, probably does sound dodgy actually. My currency is pounds but I thought this was an American site? Im trying to fundraise for free and worldwide, not many sites give you a free post!

we aren’t miserable or mean. We’re just cautious. I understand a dollar isn’t a lot to most people, but a scammer could easily rake in a lot of money this way.

there are more uk ppl here than american, and there are also canadian, mexican, german, spanish, french, its a world-wide site, many people use it all over the place.
