Anyone good at linear algebra?
I’m taking an online Linear Algebra course, and I have a test due today, and I’m so tired and confused :( I don’t want to do this anymore and I can’t think straight. Can anyone help me?

are you asking us to take your test or do your work for you?
No of course not!! I just don’t understand it quite no matter how hard I try :( my boyfriend normally helps me because he’s already taken the course and this course is autotutorial… and unfortunately I’m very bad at teaching myself :(
sorry turner.bell
it has been too long…i’m not recalling that section and can’t find my reference book.

That’s okay thank you though!!!! :D gaaaahhhhhh I don’t want to be an engineer

you’ll make it…and engineering is a great degree. it served me well, and gave me lots of opportunities.
What kind of engineer are you? :D
industrial engineer..worked in manufacturing with computer systems and managing logistics & inventory
I’m bioengineering but my boyfriend is industrial!!! :D how do you like it? Do you have any advice I could give him?

i’m retired from that field…a lot of manufacturing in U.S. has moved to mexico or china to take advantage of low wages and no regulation of pollution…
i loved my career and had lots of opportunity to travel and do lots of things…my degree served me well… does your boyfriend know what specialty he is interested in? industrial engineering can go in so many directions
bioengineering - how exciting…i am a little jealous…it would be fun just starting out instead of looking back

Well… my boyfriend is a bit of a goof. I’m not sure what he’s interested in exactly. He couldn’t decide if he wanted to major in music or engineering, and, when he finally decided on engineering, he only applied to one school (which he had never even visited before). So he’s going there now.
His dream has always been to design rollercoasters, so I would think that would be a MechE kind of thing. However, he said that he originally wanted to be a civil engineering major, but the school he applied to didn’t have civil engineering (you would have thought he’d have applied somewhere else, then, but I don’t think that occurred to him), so he just decided to do industrial because “I honestly still don’t really know what it is, it sounded cool and had the least requirements.”
But he really loves it, and he’s doing very well. He just took a course about efficiency and ergonomics and whatnot, and he was totally OBSESSED. He mentions something from that class multiple times a day. So I think he’s heading in that direction… making things more efficient and ergonomic and better and whatnot. Although I don’t know if he’ll actually stay in that direction because it seems like it would be a lot of office work and I’m afraid he’d get bored very quickly. He’s the hyperest person I’ve ever met.
So yeah. I don’t think he really knows what he wants, or even what the possibilities are for him. He knows there are lots of possibilities, but I think it’s all a little hazy. He looked up the starting salary and liked what he saw, though, so he’s very happy about that!! Sorry for the essay… I’m a bit tired :D
i kinda fell into it by accident too…but quickly fell in love with the diversity the field of study offered. many people go on to be ceo’s, or into computer systems, or people systems, or materials management systems…
i was never chained to a desk….loved the variety…so he will have no troubles finding an area that he can excel in.
if he is really into designing roller coasters…he should try to get an internship at Disney’s themeparks in their imagineering division…i think they look for IE’s …seems to me i’ve seen something in the IE journal. of course they are also into efficiency…how to keep the magic kingdom looking magical and all that.
Oh my gosh I should tell him about that!!!!! :D :D :D that would be soooo awesome!!!! Thanks so much :D

At least you’re not trying for particle physics.
I have a friend who’s double majoring AEP and Math, and he’s premed. I don’t think anything can compare to that, at least at my school
I just read your profile. I love that you said you love “people who are not willfully ignorant.” That’s one of the best things I’ve ever heard :D
And you like Dumas!!!! What are some of your other favorites besides the Count and Moby ****?

Let’s see, Dracula, Thus Spoke Zathustra, The God Delusion, The Bible, The Plague, The Stranger, Being and Nothingness, Lord of the Flies, The Hunger Games (yes I am a graduate student who reads teen books) and a lot of others that I don’t feel like naming.

Yeah, that’s pretty bad, I just couldn’t decide between physics and anthro, so I did both. I’m just saying, engineering has some hard math but it’s arithmetic compared to some of the stuff my teachers made me do.
If you give me a specific problem, I might be able to help. I’m really good at algebra.
