I think I am developing an eating disorder…

.

I never eat anymore, pretty much becasue I dont have time for it. I just forget… I’m never hungry anmore. I go days without eating. And when i do… it makes me violently ill.

I need to make a doctors appointment, but I’m afraid that if he thinks I have an eating disorder, he is going to lock me away!

Srsly.. its been 4 days since I had eaten last… I’m not hungry anymore, and Ive lost 10 lbs this month so far.

How can I get eating again without getting so sick?

eat in small amounts. Eat light foods that your body will easily digest like cookies and breads and things like that. Basic foods that our body works best with. Also have things with vitamins like fruits and stuff so your body will be healthy. The problem with these is that the body doesn’t break fruits and vegies down too well, so make sure to have some of those breads. Just a little food, enough for a snack. Take care of your body and it will take care of you, it’s the only one you’ve got. If you do have an eating dissorder we have to talk about that, because that indicates low self esteem and clearly your a smart person and should think very highly of yourself. THe doctor won’t lock you away, even if you did have an eating dissorder, but doctors are there to help, not get you in trouble. Don’t worry, it’ll be okay.

Eh… that self esteem is long gone, lol. But if say a doctor finds you mentally unstable (including eating disorder) cant they put you in a psych ward?

and trust me… id love to eat! I had some pretzles the other day.. just a handful…. made me sicker than a dog.

No, a doctor can’t just lock you up in a psych ward.

If eating makes you ill though, there could be other reasons associated with this. You should see a physician and go from there. Constantly being worried over this CERTAINLY isn’t helping.

You’ve already decided to look in to the problem, so that’s a step in the right direction. Keep that up.

Just remind yourself to eat. every hour eat a few crackers or something. and a doctor wont send you to a crazy home if you ask for help with this. just tell him/her your story and i bet they’ll understand. there are other people out there with this same problem.

I think I may have suffered something similar. It was brief though. You should definitely go to your family doctor. Whatever you say to him/her is confidential and they cannot break that trust, or they will lose their doctor’s license or whatever. Maybe you have a stomach ulcer? I highly suggest you go see a professional. A doctor won’t judge you. He/she will know what to do.

I had that for ages, I just didn’t feel like eating, and the smell of it would make me feel ill too. And when I did have an appetite once in a while, I got really crook, and my tummy felt horrible. It was a stomach ulcer, you just get a script from the doctor for the treatment pack for Heliobacter Pylori (the bacteria that gets out of control and eats holes forming the ulcer), it lasts a week, and then you slowly improve after that. I feel a lot better now a month after finishing the treatment. Make sure you tell the doctor if you have any allergies to antibiotics, as they may then have to make you up a different treatment pack. And just by the way, its your body, nobody can lock you up just for your eating habits.
