UGH…

I’m currently in the application process for grad school and am SO stuck. I have to write a personal statement and am totally not inspired at the moment. I know exactly what I want to say, but it’s not coming out the way I want right now since I’m not exactly in the mood to write it… but I have to have a first draft done by tomorrow morning… HELP!

Take a walk, think things through. You’re stressed out and you need a way to relieve yourself of that stress. I know the feeling, and a walk on a trail or something has always been a good solution for me.

make a big list about whay you need this, why you want it, and how it will help you.even if its dumb or irrelevant like “make new firends.” just write it down. then start cnnecting the idea’s like that game “doodle god” and see what comes up. example:

list:

get a basic education
make friends
get away from family (if there are dorm you will stay in)
help me figure out what to do in life
take a lot of electives

build the paragraph:

Grad school is a big part of my future planning. With the education I receive at your school, I will not only gain the knowledge to succeed in life, but I with have endless opportunities to try new things, meet new people, and widen my horizon.

thats just an example, but you get the idea.

Brainstorm…. record some throughts.. think.. wait.. relax.. go get a glass of water and maybe some ice cream or cookies… then go back to it
