How do I annotate scanned images using my Apple MacBook?

After I scan and go to edit,I get sent to Preview which says it allows annotate, but then doesn’t.

You mean, that you want to write into the scanned image? It does not work with the scanning soft. (There the term annotating must have an other meaning – see the manual.)

The scanned image you can comment when you open-it with a image editing software like Photoshop or GraphicConverter.

I didn’t try Photoshop, but I will. I can type n the scanned image if I save in Picture and then open it in Preview. Then click on annotate in upper toolbar. A selection appears in lower left corner. If I click on Aa, it highlights and when I position the cursor I can type the annotation.

I tried photoshop and the font is too small to see. Changing font size doesn’t help it to look normal.

Of course you can change the font size more. Depending on the size of the picture (you should set the Photoshop window to 100%) you can increase the font size up to any size. But the concerned text must be active! (Have a look at the Photoshop help!)
