Universities are good for learning the basics, but experience and practice are really the only way to learn how to cook.

I learned to cook from my grandma’s church. She and 8 other old ladies do a potluck once a month to feed the needy in her area, so ever since I was 11 or 12 years old, I’ve been watching them cook, and learning from their lifetime of experience. I’ve had head chefs at restaurants beg me for my recipes on things like Spaghetti.

Anyway, just keep yourself open to opportunities. Any chance to observe and ask questions is a good chance to learn.
