Is there a way for me to buy a house with a low credit score but with a steady income?

My credit has been destroyed by Hurricane Katrina and my husband and I are still paying for it. We just think it is a better investment to by a house than renting but no banks would give us a loan due to our credit.

In order to get a loan these days, your credit has to be stellar and you need to put a good percentage down (10% or more)

i know there are places to help. maybe law offices in your area or local organizations? you’d have to check out what’s available in your area but there is businesses out there to help you. sorry i can’t be more help.. good luck
