I wouldn’t call it asthma until you have coughing/weezing and actual shortness of breath and trouble breathing, or if it keeps you up at night.

It might just be the winter or allergies. Does your chest feel tight? Also I would recommend running around a bit just to test the feeling

Are you breathing more times per minute than you usually do, or is your heart rate faster?

I wouldn’t call it asthma yet then, but what I would look for is tightness of chest, wheezing/coughing especially, see if it gets worse from things like excercise or animals or poor air, and definitely if it continues to wake you up

What sort of asthma inhaler did you buy? Is it a prescription or over the counter? And the use of the inhalers is easy….

Maybe you should go to the doc and have some tests done to see if you are asthmatic and then you can determine if it’s exercise-induced; allergy -induced; etc. and try to get it under control

Try to sleep sitting up.

Try to force yourself to yawn if you can’t take a deep breath.

Get some mentholatum or vicks and put it on your chest.

Push your stomach out when you take a breath.
