I got my first job at Wal-Mart back in April and quit around June.
Around the time I quit I was going through a weird teenage/immature/hormonal thing and quit without two weeks notice. I just wanted out of there. Since then I’ve kind of gotten myself straight. I’m planning on going to college and I’ve got a job at Bi-Lo. I’ve been working there since the end of October. I recently went to my old Wal-Mart and realized how much I missed working there. It wasn’t the work I missed, but the people. (and I can’t say I would complain about the money) I don’t need much and the amount I made at Wal-Mart was more than enough.
I asked the lady in personnel when I would be able to apply again and she said 60 days after I quit. I told her I would be applying and she said there would be nothing till after Christmas. This is fine with me. My problem is that I’ve read online that Wal-Mart (or any other employer for that matter) won’t rehire someone who quit without two weeks notice. I guess I wouldn’t trust myself either. The thing is I genuinely feel like I’ve matured and gotten myself straight. I also have a bit more work experience.
Is it too far fetched to think I could be rehired? I feel really good about this, but I don’t want to get too excited.
