Its about faith and you seem to have ALOT of faith in God. Swearing, lying, cutting yourself its a habbit. Try not to do it for a week or two and those habbits will go away- you’ll forget about them.
Just recognize that faith and desire you have to be a better person and not just a human. Thats a good thing and God sees that.
Hah, there really isn’t a point to it. x) Religion exists solely to give followers a sense of purpose; taking it too seriously isn’t advised.
But uh, read the bible, educate yourself, don’t just acknowledge your sins - become a better person. Ask some of those bible-thumping loonies at your church for help! There isn’t much more to it, assuming this is Christianity we’re talking about.
You certainly don’t want to be perfect because even Saints aren’t perfect. Take a little bit more care of yourself and love the person you are already… Oh and enjoy life because you don’t have a second.
Every human is imperfect; no human lives righteously before God.
The only way we can get saved is by God’s grace.
I know how you feel I go through the same thing… I talked to the preacher at my church about it and they helped me know what to do… listen for God, read the bible more, just pray for God to give you the strength to stop cutting and swearing, and lying. Its about your faith in God… just trust he will help you! A friend told me one time… pray to the lord he loves to help. And its true he does and he will… I’ll be praying for you:) good luck
Thank you that was really helpful….. And not trying to be dis respectful but religion isnt made up but every one has choices and opinons that only they are in control of i dont mean to speak out of my place because im only 13 but ill pray for you i wouldnt want you to go to hell:)
It still may be that you are new with the Lord. Salvation is a gift absed upon the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. He was sacrificed to take the place of our condemnation so we can have eternal life with Him in heaven.
If you know that you have accepted these term, you have been forgiven. People expect instant results from God, like He is a genie or something. Sadly, things don’t instantly change, but they do with the course of time and heavenly guidance.
It’s good that you are praying.
Are you reading the Bible? The more you read the Bible the more understanding will be given to you and with courage and devotion, your faith will become strengthened.
You aren’t going to hell because of the problems you have, God is righeous and holy.
Take advantage of every chance given to you to stop the cutting. It is an outward showing of the troubles within you. Seek council from a psychologist if need be.
But, no matter what you do, keep reading your Bible.
That with prayer, the troubles you describe should taper off, as you fill yourself with a more spiritual and your habit to swear will also end. . .
hope this helps.
you can start by reading the Bible. My Pastor gives us a bible reading calendar each year. reading from 1 book, 1 chapter, 2 verus. Couldn’t get in the hang.
He told me to concentrate on Psalms & Proverbs.
The ladies from my “Finding Hope” group gave me a bible
“NTV” new international version, much easier to read
Give it a try & God bless you for getting closer to God, our Father
I will add you to my Help.com prayer list
Religion is a belief..
If you dont believe you wont have faith
If you dont have faith
then there is no hope
if there is no hope
then there is no reason to wait
If you dont want to wait
then there is no light for tomorrow
just sorrow and pain-M.C
good news is that you aint going to hell and you don’t have to appease a giant man with a beard sitting on a cloud.
Because neither exsist and you are free to make mistakes over and over again just like everyone else, eventually you stop making that same mistake, takes time but everyone stops eventually.
That was very helpful thanks everyone(: im just going to take it one day at a time and i do read my bible i try and memorize the verses that stick out to me. but i dont understand alot of them like i read about having faith like a mustard seed and i didnt understand it at first but i kinda do now. I just pray and ask for understanding with everything.
Funny, not LOL. I lost hope, pain and sorrow is all I feel.
Yet I pray each and every sometimes days sometimes nights for my 4 pages of people double sided of all from Help, com. Hoping God will help them in their time of need.
I have a poster in my room, Draw near to God and he will draw near to you.
If you want to be stronger in the lord quit making those mistakes. You have a choice every day of what you do. Do what you think is right. Do what you know is right.

Dr. Awesome: Look, I’m a non-believer as well - but that doesn’t justify belittling a 13 year-old’s faith system. She has as much right to believe as you and I have not to believe. Please let us non-believers at least respect the rights of believers enough to stay away from their posts, rather than give contrary, pithy replies. It’s not any less than what we expect of them when we post our point of view. And please: to not take this post off topic: if you absolutely must reply to me on this, use my shoutbox.
You know Santa Ralph is right. When I had an office job, I would get so upset over the fact that the excutives swear like , I don’t know every other word out of their mouths started with an F. I am a big Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan, and trained myself to say Bloody Hell, instead of F’in whatever. I say oh Crumbs instead os crap of Sh**. When you feel like your know you’re going to say a bad word, slow down and say “What the bloody hell are you thinking”
I was cleaning today kept making mistakes/ goofs I said oh crumbs just like it’s just was I say on a regular basis.

I claim only what I know. If you ever need any help to understand something in the Bible, please feel free to contact me in an area of this site called the “Shouts.”
I will additionally keep you in prayer tonight for your spiritul fortification.
God bless, Brittany.
Thank you Aries, for your consideration in pointing that out. Being a believer, I sometimes find it difficult to NOT jump the gun when it comes to the POV of those who aren’t necessarily believers, themselves. You set a fair example of restraint and retort that I will better consider in future times.

“but whats the point of asking for forgivness then making the same mistakes over again”.
This is absolutely right, but it’s all something that we do from time to time. What you need to remember is that even though you ask for forgiveness, you’re also asking for another chance to improve yourself. All we are asked is to do what’s best, it’s all that’s asked of us because it’s all we CAN do. Nobody is perfect.
However, this might give you some peace of mind: When you do these things that make you feel bad, or that you know are wrong, you ask for frogiveness. When you ask for forgiveness and you truly mean it, you receive it. Now, if you make the same mistake again, it does not mean that you didn’t learn from it, it just means that you’re still learning. G-d does not hold grudges, so once you have already asked for forgiveness even the 5000th time, it’s not remembered. He forgets all about the 4999 times and if you asked for the 5000th, it will be the same thing. Think of it like a slate…it’s wiped clean therefore it’s like it never happened. All you’re doing is sponging out the writing on the stone and if it reappears again, you do the same thing until you learn.
You will learn. Your teenage years are the most trifling time in a person’s life. I was self-harming at 13 almost constantly. I still swear, and there has been times when I’ve self-harmed even now at 25. So I am still learning myself, it’s just not as often. We never stop learning, our whole lives even after we finish school, we still learn. Even when we are 100 years old, we are still discovering new knowledge and learning from mistakes of the past, it never stops.
Remember that as long as you try, and as long as you do your best, that’s all that He asks of You. You don’t need to be perfect to become stronger in Him, to Him, You already are perfect and He loves You no matter what. You could be the worst morally sound person imaginable and He still loves You. Humans and other living souls may look down on you, but He doesn’t. He looks down upon you in the strongest love none of us can ever fathom. We don’t even understand a smidgen of His love towards us, His children, and we probably never will. His love is pure, and the only unconditional love that can NEVER be taken away.
