Calorie Help..Am I hurting my health?

…Okay.. I know it is bad for you if you eat less 1000 calories a day. I eat like 600 calories a day and I don’t do it on purpose. That is just how much I eat until I am full. I wouldn’t have noticed it at all unless a friend had not have pointed it out that I don’t eat a whole lot. Today I counted how many calories I ate just to see and it was 580. Also, I am a vegetarian so this may have something to do with it. Today I ate a granola bar - 190 calories, a spicy bean burger on wheat bread - 150, peas mixed with tomatoes - 100, some cheerios - 140 So should I fix this or what? I am paranoid.

actually, there was a study done that people who starve themselves (I’m not talking to the point of death, but who eat very little calories) live longer because their body goes to survival mode. I think the amount of calories was like 1000 a day though, so I would step it up a bit.

If you’re not experiencing any problems, then you’re most likely fine. I’d recommend figuring out your BMR (basal metabolic rate). Try this site: http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-cal…

If you feel weird, check these symptoms: http://www.mybodyandme.org/sti/conten… (I’m not saying you have an eating disorder, it’s just to check your symptoms). Call your doctor if you’re worried.

I think that as long as you stay healthy you will be fine.
Your body will tell you clearly if you don´t give it what it needs.

Thanks guys!! I don’t feel like I am going to die now lol I’ll work my way up to 1000 a day. I checked my BMR and it is 1385.55. Is that good?
