Why do musicians have a perceived inflated ego?

Answer, We have to face audiences as a career, and have to give positive energy to the people who pay to see us.. If we came across as shy and scared, which all artists really feel at one time or another, we wouldnt go very far..Yes , musicians can carry it too far, but the truth is, its really a nerve racking experience to put you soul on the line when you have to face people who would be happy to judge you negatively..Its not easy to overcome stage fright, and sometimes we hide behind our ego.. Nuff said
